Brand, product, visual, games and beyond: danko is A tech-oriented, multi-disciplined Design Lead with international experience within a variety of industries, cultures and environments.
A synesthete and polymath, Danko is a senior creative who strives to leverage empathy, data and imagination to explore ideas and execute solutions. A strong holistic approach grounds his creative process, collaborating with other talented professionals to iterate and shape scalable, intuitive, user-centric experiences, products and journeys.
Trained as a medical illustrator, Danko has since built up his skillset beyond most conventional creative role criteria. After over a decade working on international corporate identities, branding, product design, mobile games, app UI & UX, art direction and design direction, he has become a generalist who identifies as a creative monster.
Danko’s design process is both analog and digital, combining traditional and modern methods, mediums, tools, disciplines, materials and stimuli to experiment, explore and scale creative solutions for intelligent audiences.
After concluding a teaching position at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada, Danko moved to Berlin in 2014. While in Germany, he designed mobile games, upcycled furniture, branded tech startups, fashion brands and local businesses, sundowned Diamler’s Car2Go brand, joined a design agency studio and helped Commerzbank refine and modernize their digital services.
Danko joined the Typeform creative team in Barcelona in 2021, and later became the Founding Design Lead at Mash, where he helped a small Canadian startup team shape their company identity and build a fintech SaaS from scratch.
He then collaborated remotely with Axonista Studios on user-focused initiatives, SaaS systems and streaming video products for HSN / QVC, before relocating from Europe to California.
Danko is currently a Product Design Lead for Zoom.
Danko is always interested in meeting for a drink, meal, surf or sail with fellow creatives, creators, builders and innovators.
